A video capturing a heart-warming “brounion” between two servicemen after three years apart is going viral.
A military wife, Rachel Taylor, shared the moving 30-second clip to TikTok after her husband surprised his “best friend.”
Taylor, who organised the meet to celebrate her husband’s graduation, explained the pair were stationed together in Japan, and hadn’t seen each other in years after later moving to Florida and Hawaii.
Taylor made sure to capture the touching moment on camera, and later posted the video to her account chattyrabbit914.
It starts off with her filming her other half packing drinks onto a truck, when a man sneaks up behind him.
He instantly recognises him as his former comrade, but is in so much shock he drops the crate of water he’s holding to the floor, as his jaw falls open.
The serviceman can scarcely believe his eyes as he shrieks in delight, and hugs his pal while climbing on top of him.
The two men embrace in a moving reunion, as Taylor’s husband jumps up and down for joy, before bending down on the ground with his head in his hands.
Taylor captioned the emotional video: “He surprised him for our graduation party. Our families were stationed together in Japan.”
She later added: “My husband is the best person to surprise and he loves his military friends like family.”
The clip racked up more than six million views before it was shared on Twitter and YouTube, with user GoodNewsCorrespondent captioning the meeting: “This is the best brounion I’ve ever seen. Military best friends reunite after 3 years apart.”
Taylor went on to explain that the best friends ended up in states more than 4,000 miles apart after serving in Japan.
She wrote: “This is actually my husband and his best friend. Our families were stationed in Japan together for 3 years and in 2015 we were moved to Florida and they were moved to Hawaii. This was my husband’s college graduation party and his best friend and I arranged this great surprise.”
The touching clip has racked up thousands of comments across various social media platforms, with even celebrities praising the long-awaited meeting.
